The Warehouse Builder Appliance contains pre-packaged application content that can be used to analyse your current business activities and that can be shaped to meet your reporting requirements for business intelligence.

 

You can further adapt the application content to your business intelligence reporting requirements. The Warehouse Builder Appliance uses the metadata in your Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or other transaction system to answer key business questions based on proven business practices.

 

A Warehouse Appliance project is a set of models, packages, and related information for maintaining and sharing model information. To get started creating an Appliance Warehouse project, working together we must:

 

Create a database to contain your data warehouse.

 

Start the Appliance Warehouse and create a project based on the data warehouse database.

 

Import business content from a content library to the Appliance Warehouse project.

 

Extract, transform and load data from the ERP and other data sources into your data warehouse.

 

Configure reports or OLAP analysis using Cognos or Microsoft technologies.

 

Deliver the solution on the web to intranet, extranet, or mobile devices.
